Telecommunications Information Notice 25-08: Change in Billing Model for Complex Cable and Wire Consulting

The Office of Technology Services has modified the billing model for the Complex Cable and Wire Consulting line of service. Effective July 1, 2025, OTS will no longer charge a set $75 per hour consulting fee. Instead, OTS will charge the agencies the actual cost for the specific time that each Wire and Cable employee spends on cable engineering work for each job. This may include wiring assessments, cable plant designs, preparing quotes, procurement assistance, contractor management, and order oversight. Agencies will see a direct bill charge for these services on their OTS invoice. The project name and location will be included on each time entry.
The scope of work required for each wiring job varies. OTS will provide an estimate of Complex Cable and Wire Consulting hours upon initiation of a project, but the estimate is subject to change as conditions and/or scope change.
The catalog of services has been updated to reflect this change.
