PUBLIC FACILITIES
An activity may be assisted in whole or in part with CDBG funds if the activity is defined as eligible under Section 105(a) of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended, {current law 42 USC 5305}.
Each state administering the CDBG program is allowed the flexibility of determining its priorities from that range of eligible activities under Section 105(a) of the Act. Within HUD regulations, the State of Louisiana has established priorities for program categories and activities. Under the FY 2023 Public Facilities Program, applications have been accepted for street improvements. Applications have been reviewed, scored and awarded based on the amount of funding available. The FY 2023 Public Facilities Grantee Workshop will be held Monday, August 31, 2023.
OCD-LGA has published proposed the FY 2024/2025 Method of Distribution which outlines its plan for the anticipated funds to be received from HUD for the upcoming program years. Project Severity Assessment Packages will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on November 13, 2023. They must be submitted by hard copy and received in the OCD-LGA office by the deadline, not merely postmarked.
