Password Maintenance
Purpose
Set yourself up as a new user in Louisiana Employees Online (LEO), unlock your Personnel number (user ID), or reset your password.

Menu Path
Start by following this menu path:
· After connecting to the Internet and accessing the LEO Entry page;
· Click on PASSWORD MAINTENANCE located on the left hand side of the LEO logo on the Entry page.
Helpful Hints
· If you do not know your Personnel Number contact your agency's Employee Administration Office (Human Resources).
· If you have left state employment due to retirement or separation of duties, your access to LEO will be terminated after 30 days. If you transferred to another state agency, your access to LEO may be limited to My Work.
Procedure
1. After connecting to LEO the LEO Entry screen will be displayed.

2. Click on the PASSWORD MAINTENANCE (Set-up/Unlock id) link.
3. The Password Reset Application screen will be displayed.

If your userid is not
locked and you know your password, you have reached this screen in error.
Click on the
button.
4. Enter your Personnel Number.
This is your User Name for logon to the LEO system. It
is the letter "P" and your 8 digit personnel number.
If your personnel number is less than 8 numbers, add zeros after the
letter.
Example: P00012345 (must have a letter with a total of eight numeric characters).
6. Perform one of the following:

7. The Identity Validation screen is displayed with your name at the top.

These questions will ONLY have to be answered one
time for validation purposes. After you set up your personal question you will
not see this page again.
You may have to click and drag on the scroll bar to locate information in a
drop-down list if it is not showing.
8. Click in the box to the right of Date of Birth MM/DD/YYYY: and the drop-down list for the month will be displayed. Click on the Month of your birth.
9. Click in the next box to the right of month and the drop-down list for the Day of your birth will be displayed. Click on the day of your birth.
10. Click in the next box, to the right of Day, and the drop-down list for the Year of your birth will be displayed. Click on the year of your birth.
11. Click in the box to the right of Last 4 digits of SSN (XXXX): and enter the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
12. Click the
button to display the Personal Question screen.

13. If the Personal Question screen is not displayed and an error message is displayed, perform one of the following:

14. Select a personal question from the list displayed to the right of Select your question: . You will be asked this question for any future attempts to unlock your ID or to reset your password.
Available Personal
Questions:
What was your first car?
What is your Mother-in-law's maiden name?
What was the name of the first school you attended?
Where did you meet your spouse?
What was your favorite teacher's name?
What was the name of your first pet?
What was the name of your childhood best friend?
What is your father's middle name?
When is your mother's birthday (use MMDD format)?
15. Click
next
the available question you have chosen.
16. Press your tab key or click in the next field to the right of Enter one word answer: and enter the answer to
your personal question. Spaces are not allowed.
Type in one or more words as well as any numbers, omitting spaces to create a
string of characters - a ONE WORD answer.
Note: Answer to this question--MUST have at least four (4) characters, but can be more.
17. Press your tab key or click in the next field to the right of Re-enter one word answer: and enter your one word answer again. This is to confirm you entered the answer correctly.
18. Press your tab key or click in the next field to the right of Enter mother's maiden name: and enter your mother's maiden name.
Mother's maiden name
will be used to confirm your identity if you need telephone assistance.
19. Press your tab key or click in the next field to the right of Re-enter mother's maiden name: and enter your mother's maiden name again to confirm you entered it correctly.
20. For security purposes, ONLY your Personal Question
will be displayed, the other fields are shown with ●●●●●●.

NOTE: If you receive an error message, clear the fields by pressing the
delete key until the field is empty. Then re-enter your information until it
is accepted successfully.

21. The Select New Password screen is displayed.
|
|
Be sure to read the password guidelines on the top
of this screen, before typing in your new password.
22. Enter in the box to the right of Enter new password: your new password.
23. Enter in the box to the right of Re-enter new password: your new password again. This is to confirm you entered your password correctly.
24. Click
to display the Store New Password screen.

|
25. If the Store New Password screen is displayed with the message "Password is changed successfully," go to Step 27.
26. If message "Password is changed successfully" is not displayed, perform one of the following:

the password you selected is less than 8 characters, a pop-up box will be displayed with the message "Password field must contain at least 8 characters. Please correct and retry," |

select a different password, type the new password in both

you mistype one of the words so that both the Enter new password: and the Re-enter new password: do not match exactly, a pop-up box will be displayed with the message "Please enter and re-type same password. Please fix and retry," |

27. Personal information has been established in LEO, and you
have stored a password. Click
to
return to the LEO Entry page. Click Logon
for step-by-step logon instructions.
You are now ready to use the new password to logon
to LEO or you can click the
in the
upper right hand to close the LEO window
and access another system such as SAP.
28. If you have already established your identity in LEO and have a locked Personnel number or cannot remember your password, the Personal Question on File screen will be displayed.

29. Enter in the box to the right of Enter one word answer: the answer to your personal question.
Remember when the answer was created spaces were not allowed. You might have typed
in one or more words as well as any numbers (omitting spaces) to create a
string of characters to form your "ONE WORD"
answer.
30. Click
to
display the Select New Password screen.

Be sure to read the password guidelines above the
boxes, before entering a new password.
31. If the Select New Password screen is displayed with boxes to enter your new password, go to Step 33.
32. If the Select New Password screen is not displayed, perform one of the following:

33. Enter in the box to the right of Enter new password: your new password.
34. Enter in the box to the right of Re-enter new password: your new password again. This is to confirm you entered your password correctly.
35. Click

display the Store New Password screen.

36. If the Store New Password screen is displayed with the message "Password is changed successfully", go to Step 38.
37. If the message "Password is changed successfully" is not displayed, perform one of the following:
