LINC Long Distance Conversion Project Complete
October 13, 2009
The Office of Telecommunications Management (OTM) completed the conversion of LINC (Louisiana Intercity Network for Communications) long distance service. OTM appreciates the cooperation and efforts of all of the groups statewide who assisted in this conversion.
During the course of the conversion, there were some users who were temporarily unable to make long distance calls. In order to quickly make long distance calling available to those users until normal restoration of their long distance service could be made, the OTM Help Desk provided customers with an access code for dialing long distance calls.
As all long distance service is functioning properly, users who may have been using the access code should no longer use that temporary measure and should begin dialing long distance calls as previously instructed. For most agency callers, the dialing pattern is 9 + 1 + area code + 7 digit local telephone number. Should an authorized long distance user be unable to dial long distance using 9 + 1 or as instructed for their location, please call the OTM Help Desk at 225-342-7777.
For any question about changes in the state's long distance service, contact Jolene Ardoin at email@example.com or 225 342-8682.
