MEMORANDUM SA 99-01

Policy and Procedure Memorandum Number 70 requires submission of the above mentioned report for the period January 1, 1998 through June 30, 1998 to this office by July 31, 1998. A copy of form DA 1405 is included for your convenience. Should your agency not have had activity, simply return a copy of the form indicating that fact.

Many agencies are now transmitting Aid to Local Government information via some form of electronic media. In the past this has been in the form of a floppy diskette, either 5¼ or 3½ inch sizes. OSRAP no longer has the capability to read 5¼ diskettes; you may however continue to use 3½ diskettes.

Additionally, and this is new this year, we prefer that you send data saved in a flat file format ( i.e. .txt, or .csv). Some of the newer versions of Lotus and many of the Microsoft products have the ability to save files in these types of formats. You should continue to use the same template as you have in the past but should save the file, if possible, as a .txt or .csv file, otherwise just send a file saved in the lotus format. Files may be compressed using, PK Zip software, if necessary or desired. If you so desire, your files may be transmitted via Internet Mail to Cwade@doa.state.la.us, or as in the past, send a diskette.
