Program Authorization: Article 7, Section 7 of the 1974 State Constitution
This Fund provides for costs incurred as the result of unanticipated state emergencies that occur between legislative sessions. The 1974 State Constitution provides that up to one-tenth (1/10th) of one percent (1%) of total prior-year state revenue may be set aside to pay for these unanticipated costs.

This agency's recommended appropriation does not include any funds for short-term debt.
This agency does not have any long-term debt for Fiscal Year 1998-1999.
SOURCE OF FUNDING
The funding for this program is state general fund.
ANALYSIS OF RECOMMENDATION
Revision to original projection to reflect State Treasury's official funding level calculation for the Interim Emergency Fund based on one-tenth of one percent of prior year actual revenue collections
The total means of financing for this program is recommended at 105.0% of the existing operating budget. It represents 100.0% of the total request ($12,330,000) for this program. The recommended increase over existing operating budget reflects the historical trend of this program's average growth over the past five years.
