The mission of Medical Vendor Payments is to provide for direct payments to medical service providers for health care services rendered to Louisiana residents who are eligible for Title XIX (Medicaid).
The goal of Medical Vendor Payments is to pay for health services for the following eligibility categories: individuals eligible for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF); pregnant women, and children through age six with income under 133% of the poverty level; and recipients of Supplemental Security Income, State Supplementation payments, FosCare, Refugee Assistance, and Long Term Care categories of federal assistance.
Medical Vendor payments includes the following programs: Payments to Private Providers, Payments to Public Providers, Medicare Buy-Ins and Supplements, and Uncompensated Care Costs Payments.
This agency's recommended appropriation does not include any funds for short-term debt.
This agency does not have any long-term debt for Fiscal Year 1998-1999.
