01-131 Louisiana War Veterans Home

The mission of the Louisiana War Veterans Home is to provide care for disabled and homeless veterans.

The goal of the Louisiana War Veterans Home is to provide the best available medical and health care to Louisiana veterans disabled by age, disease or otherwise, who by reason of such disabilities are incapable of caring for themselves, and require an institutionalized setting.

There are two veterans homes in Louisiana; one is located near the Town of Jackson, and the other one is located in the City of Monroe. Only a small portion of the average cost per patient is borne by the state; the majority of funding is derived from self-generated and federal funds.
