19-695 Minimum Foundation Program

The Minimum Foundation Program is the mechanism by which all students in public elementary and secondary schools are assured of a minimum program of education. The funds for this purpose are equitably allocated according to a formula adopted by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and approved by the Legislature.

The Minimum Foundation Program has only one program, the Minimum Foundation Program. Therefore, the mission and goals of the Minimum Foundation Program are the same as those listed for the Minimum Foundation Program in the program description that follows.

This agency's recommended appropriation does not include any funds for short-term debt.

This agency does not have any long-term debt for Fiscal Year 1999-2000.

This agency's recommended appropriation also includes the following amount by means of financing for payments on the unfunded accrued liability of the Louisiana State Teachers' Retirement System in accordance with the provisions of Article X, Section 29 of the Constitution of Louisiana:
