Unless otherwise indicated, all objectives are to be accomplished during or by the end of FY 1999-2000. Performance indicators are made up of two parts: name and value. The indicator name describes what is being measured. The indicator value is the numeric value or level achieved within a given measurement period. For budgeting purposes, performance indicator values are shown for the prior fiscal year, the current fiscal year, and alternative funding scenarios for the ensuing fiscal year (the fiscal year of the budget document). Standard performance indicator tables include columns for the performance indicator name and the following performance indicator values:

ACTUAL

FY 1997-98

This column contains values that are actual figures for the prior fiscal year.

 

 

ACT 19

FY 1998-1999

or

ACT 44

FY 1998-1999

This column contains initial operating budget performance values under Act 19 of 1998 (the General Appropriation Act for FY 1998-99) or Act 44 (the Ancillary Appropriation Act for FY 1998-99). If a performance indicator was a key or supporting performance indicator in FY 1998-99 source documents (general and ancillary appropriation acts and the Executive Budget and its supporting document), then the Act 19/Act 44 column has the initial performance standard for that indicator. If a performance indicator is new and did not appear under Act 19 or Act 44, then the Act 19/Act 44 column shows "Not applicable."

 

 

EXISTING

FY 1998-1999

This column contains existing operating budget (initial operating budget performance values, plus or minus approved adjustments) performance values. If a performance indicator was a key or supporting performance indicator in FY 1998-99 source documents, then the Existing column has the most recent performance standard on record for the indicator at the time the Executive Budget is formulated. Existing performance standards are tracked in the Louisiana Performance Accountability System. If a performance indicator is new and has no FY 1998-99 performance standard, then the Existing column has an agency estimate of expected yearend performance for that indicator.

 

 

CONTINUATION

FY 1999-2000

This column contains performance values at a continuation budget funding level.

 

 

RECOMMENDED

FY 1999-2000

This column contains performance values at the funding level recommended in the Executive Budget.
