Services

The Office of Computing Services (OCS) provides information technology support to the Division of Administration and centralized IT services to other departments under the authority of the CIO. Within the DOA, OCS provides hardware and software support for servers and desktop computers. Statewide IT services provided include computing facilities management, statewide e-mail, consolidated monitoring, and mainframe support services.

OCS Responsibilities include:

CMS This service provides centralized monitoring of statewide networks, critical infrastructure and selected servers and applications.
EMAIL Provides and supports email, collaborative calendaring, and wireless services for the State of Louisiana.
FACILITIES MANAGEMENT Manages physical facilities (floor space, electrical, environmental, physical security) within the Information Services Building (ISB). Provides secure, stable environment for the hosting of executive branch agencies critical computing systems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
HARDWARE Maintains and supports servers, desktops, printers and scanners which include installations, moves, troubleshooting and service.
HELP DESK Provides first-line problem management for Division of Administration (DOA) computer users and statewide mainframe remote printing users. Also promulgates and administers the IT security policy for the Division of Administration and statewide users of the DOA mainframe.
PROCUREMENT Procures hardware, software and computer supplies for the DOA and manages associated licensing and maintenance contracts.
SOFTWARE SUPPORT Maintains z/OS and z/VM operating systems and related system software for the DOA, DOE, DCFS and DHH mainframes. Manages DB2 and MS-SQL database platforms running on mainframe and open systems hardware.  Maintains enterprise storage assets and multiple storage area networks.  Supports Linux and UNIX servers, the Division's virtualization environment, and the open systems backup environment.
WINDOWS SERVER SUPPORT Provides operating system support, administration, and technical consulting for Microsoft Windows Servers residing in both physical and virtual environments. This includes Microsoft Active Directory, Domain Name Services (DNS), WEB Servers, file and print servers, specialized application servers, performance monitoring\tuning, backup\recovery, disaster recovery, and security.
WORKSTATION Provides support for desktop computing, LAN management, and technical consulting.
