After a specified period of inactivity on a workstation, the screen saver program will "lock" your PC in order to prevent unauthorized access. Once locked, only the person who logged on to the PC can regain access to the desktop by typing their LAN password. The default time out period is 15 minutes. However, the workstation owner can change this time.

If you would like to "force" your screen saver to come on, without waiting for the typical time out period to expire, you should press CTRL ALT DEL, then select "Lock Workstation".

Many people enjoy unique, graphical screen saver programs. Please be aware that complicated graphics require significant system resources to display which can impact any background processing. Under no circumstances should such graphical screen savers be installed on a server PC.
