Office Closures for Hurricane Rita

As of Wednesday, September 28, 2005, state agency
heads in ALL PARISHES may re-open offices as circumstances
allow and call employees in those areas back to work in accordance with
Civil
Service rules.

this time, due to Hurricane Rita, I am directing
the closure of all state offices
in Jefferson and Lafourche parishes below
Highway 90 until Wednesday, September 28, 2005.

by their supervisors.
Supervisors of state workers are urged to BE SENSITIVE TO THE PARTICULAR NEEDS OF THEIR EMPLOYEES in view of the difficulties some will face in returning to work in the aftermath of Hurricane Rita.

State employees should monitor media and can call the

I urge supervisors of state workers to BE SENSITIVE
TO THE PARTICULAR NEEDS OF THEIR EMPLOYEES in view of

for the remainder of the day in the following parishes:

Essential personnel should report to work as directed by their supervisors.
Additional closures will be announced and updates to this list will be issued periodically.
State employees should monitor media regarding office closures as well as announcements about
when offices are scheduled to reopen.
Those announcements will be made by the Governor's office or the
Commissioner of Administration. In addition, the 800 number established by the
Commissioner of Administration will be updated with information about office closures.
