BATON ROUGE – Commissioner of Administration Paul Rainwater announced today that Assistant Commissioner Ray Stockstill has been tapped for the role of Deputy Commissioner of the Division of Administration.
“When it comes to issues of government finance, operations, and policy, Ray Stockstill’s experience and expertise are unsurpassed,” said Rainwater. “I am pleased that he will continue to serve this state and to play an even greater leadership role in our efforts to reform and restructure government.”
Stockstill will be detailed by the Governor’s office to serve as deputy commissioner effective January 1.
Rainwater also thanked and praised outgoing Deputy Commissioner Mark Brady, who will assist the Division in transition through January before returning to the private sector.
“Mark’s contribution has been invaluable, and I am grateful for the integrity, intelligence, and passion that he brought to the job and that I’m sure will serve him well in his next endeavors,” Rainwater said.
Biography of Ray Stockstill
Ray Stockstill, of Baton Rouge, has served as Assistant Commissioner of the Division of Administration since February 2010, after having served as the Director of Budget Policy and Management for the Division since July 2005. Stockstill has worked for the Division since 1976 in various positions within the Office of Planning and Budget, including Deputy State Budget Director and State Budget Director.
Stockstill is a member of the National Association of State Budget Officers, having served on the Executive Committee, and as Committee Chair for the Committee on Tax, Commerce, Physical Resources and Transportation. He holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from LSU.
