Commissioner of Administration's Communications Director Announced

BATON ROUGE - Today, Governor-Elect Bobby Jindal announced that Michael DiResto, a senior advisor to the Louisiana Republican Party, will serve as Commissioner of Administration Angele Davis's Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives.

DiResto, of Baton Rouge, is currently serving as a senior advisor to the Louisiana Republican Party, advising the Party's chairman and executive director on political strategy. He served as the chief spokesperson for the Party on the Governor's race, and led the Party's rapid response operations during the campaign.

DiResto was previously press secretary for U.S. Congressman Richard Baker from 1999 to August 2007, serving as an advisor to the Congressman on financial services, economic development and transportation policy in addition to his spokesperson role.

Prior to moving to Louisiana, DiResto was a copy editor at Temerlin McClain Advertising in Dallas, Texas. DiResto has a bachelor’s and a master's degree in English from the University of Dallas. He also taught freshman English at LSU for three years in pursuit of a doctorate before beginning work with Baker.
