Video Network Services (VNS)

The Office of Telecommunications Management (OTM) recently rebid the Video Network Services (VNS) contract. The new contract rates will be effective with the January 2006 OTM bill (Decembers usage). The VNS supports point-to-point and multipoint conferences through dedicated access via lines provisioned through VNS or dial access via user provided ISDN services (billed through OTM).
There has been a reduction in the monthly recurring and one-time installation access rates in BellSouth service areas; however, rates differ for remote locations serviced by independent telephone companies. Two new usage packages are now offered in addition to the unlimited flat rate. The service offered by OTM includes the following features and functionality at the prices listed below.

Video conference scheduling is accomplished through the online BellSouth Interactive Web Scheduler (www.video4u2.bellsouth.com) which is available 365 days per year, 24/7. Security access must be granted by OTM to all users/schedulers. Various security levels are offered, as follows:

Administrator--Schedule, modify and delete conferences (including those scheduled by someone else in the organization)

Requester--Schedule conferences but can only modify and delete those they scheduled themselves

Read only--No scheduling access and can run reports only
